Can a few simple food swaps make you healthier and happier? According to Liz Shaw, yes — she’s made a career of it!

Liz is the brains behind Shaw’s Simple Swaps Consulting. This registered dietitian is a self-certified health nut who has loved nutrition and wellness and since she was a little girl. Now, she guides people through easy food choices that don’t sacrifice taste.

Liz loves the memories that food creates. “Food is such a social experience that making the most of every eating occasion when you can with family and friends brings that much more life to the meal,” she says.

She encourages her clients to add more beans to their diets because beans are delicious! Their taste alone makes them a stellar addition to any meal, she says.

Liz has a hard time picking the beans she likes the most, but her favorites include garbanzo, black, and pinto beans. She loves the versatility each brings to the table and the unique flavors they impart. For instance, this Mashed Chickpea Avocado Bagel Toast has become a regular staple in her kitchen.
